Just last week, Dakota Kai betrayed her friend Bayley by joining the other members of Damage CTRL against her. WWE Women”s Champion Iyo Sky and the WWE Women”s Tag Team Champions Kairi Sane & Asuka hold all the cards. Bayley is set to challenge Sky at WrestleMania 40, but with Kai jumping to the side of Damage CTRL, the former leader of the faction is all alone. It is now essentially a 4 on 1 situation, or is it?
One would assume that WWE would find a way to ensure Bayley evens the playing field. The Hug Master General”s character has been shown to be a master strategist, who helped Damage CTRL win the gold they are currently holding. WWE has written Bayley as someone who uses her veteran knowledge as well as her intellect to ensure she gets what she wants. This is why she knew the Kabuki Warriors & Iyo Sky would betray her.
This woman literally acted as if she did not know Japanese for about a year or so. Then she proved she knew exactly what the three were saying behind her back the whole time. She even knew the three could be an issue, so she planned for it by hiding weapons near the ring or on her person. You could make a solid case that Bayley planned for the entire team to betray her. In fact, you could also assume she knew Dakota Kai would do so too.
The question is, who will watch Bayley”s back against Damage CTRL when she faces Iyo Sky at WrestleMania?
Feeling The Glow
If Bayley did plan for the betrayal, as she plans for everything else, then her preparation time is worth fearing. She”ll be ready for WrestleMania, even if she has to face all of Damage CTRL on her own. There are only a few people that Bayley knows she can trust, and one of them is not in WWE.
Many assume that Sasha Banks will return to help her friend against Damage CTRL. While this would be awesome to see, it seems pretty clear that she is heading to AEW very soon. Of course, one woman actually just returned and is known to be a friend of Bayley”s. Naomi, who was one-half of the WWE Women”s Tag Team Champions with Sasha when the two walked out of WWE, is back. Most assume she would be willing to assist Bayley.
Keep in mind that Bayley actually attended Naomi”s last TNA match. She would not attend anyone”s match in another company if they were not good friends in real life, right? Therefore, Naomi being in Bayley”s corner makes sense. The issue is trying to figure out who else would be on her side.
With Dakota Kai joining Damage CTRL, it is a 4-on-2 situation with the addition of Naomi. Let”s try to figure out who might be willing to assist our favorite hugger.
Shine Bright Like A Jade Diamond
Recently, we have been seeing a lot of Jade Cargill. While she is not quite ready for a big one-on-one match yet it seems, WWE does want her to be on television as often as possible. After all, she was a big signing for the company and has an incredible look. This past week, she had a run-in with Damage CTRL backstage. Nothing happened, but Jade starring down the team (before SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis escorted her to his office), was interesting,
As of now, Jade has nothing going on for WrestleMania. She is clearly a strong, capable woman based on her performance in the Women”s Royal Rumble match back in January. Of course, that is just what WWE audiences have seen of her. Those of us who saw her in AEW know that she is capable of so much more and could be a huge asset for Bayley. No, do not expect Bayley to start up another faction with Jade in it. One would assume she is done with those for a while.
However, if Jade wants to join the fight because she knows taking Damage CTRL down is helpful to her…she”ll do it.
This gives us two possible partners for Bayley that could take her foes down a peg. Of course, adding Jade means that you have a person who could take on two women herself. Yet this does not feel like the best move for her, meaning we need to still even this up to 4-on-4 somehow.
The question is, who else would be willing to help Bayley?
The Mystery Fourth
Several women might be open to helping Bayley.
Tiffany Stratton has been getting a lot of love from fans recently. While this does not mean she”ll turn babyface since she is such a good heel right now, we cannot ignore how great she has been. She”s on the SmackDown Brand, and would be directly affected by Damage CTRL long-term should they stay together. Even as a heel, it makes sense that she”d want to take them down as it benefits her.
Bianca Belair has had her run-ins with Damage CTRL. Of course, it was often when Bayley was still leading the team. It is tough to know if Belair would be willing to assist a person who has not exactly made her life easy. However, it is possible that Belair would realize that getting involved with Bayley to take down Damage CTRL would be beneficial. The team has proven to be formidable, and adding a great athlete like Bianca would help a lot.
Of course, there is one person that stands out above everyone else…Charlotte Flair.
Yes, she has been out of action since December 2023 due to tearing her ACL, MCL, & Meniscus. It is only March, yet Flair has been on social media showing her lifting weights with a full bend in her knee. She might not be ready to return to the ring entirely, but by early April, she”ll be about 4 months out from any surgical procedures that took place.
She”d be more than capable of coming back just to have a small brawl. After all, Dakota Kai did something similar for the last few months despite only recently being cleared. It also makes sense that she would due to Bayley being part of the original Four Horsewomen.
